Hey! I’m Javier Ordoñez—a self-taught photographer, proud dad of three, longtime teacher, and former skateboarder who somehow got lucky enough to marry a real-life superhero. These days, I mostly lay low as a soccer dad and science teacher with a camera always within reach.

         What really lights me up is capturing people as they are—laughing, loving, moving, and connecting. As both a dad and a teacher, I know how to help people feel at ease in front of the camera (even if they swear they hate photos). My background in skateboarding, teaching, and sports gives me a unique edge—I move swiftly, stay positive, and know how to catch the little moments that matter.

   I immigrated to the U.S. in the 1980s with my mom and brother and called LA home. I enjoyed the California dream of being a skateboarder, learning to fit in while staying true to who I was, and enjoying everything from backyard carne asada parties to beautiful San Diego sunsets with friends.

Now, I’m raising bicultural, bilingual kids who love pupusas, surfing, and the Fourth of July. It’s part of our family story, and it helps me connect with people from all kinds of backgrounds.

          Some of my most cherished possessions are the photos I’ve taken of my own kids over the years. That’s why I treat every session like it’s personal—because these are the memories we hold onto.
